The St. Georg zum See Hotel is easily accessible by train, car or plane throughout the year.
Journey by Car
Take the A12 motorway (Inntalautobahn; vignette required) and leave it at the "Wiesing" junction. Continue on the B181 road heading for "Achensee". After 7km, you will arrive in the village of Maurach on the shore of Lake "Achensee.
Alternatively, you can travel via the "Achenpass" or Bad Tölz on toll-free roads. Take the motorway from Munich and leave it at "Holzkirchen" junction. Proceed via Tegernsee and Achenpass or Bad Tölz to the border crossing point. Head then for Achenkirch and proceed there 10km towards Maurach on the shore of Lake "Achensee".
Journey by Train
Enjoy a fast and safe journey without traffic jams, stress and refuelling stops. Travel to Jenbach railway station and take there the bus (line4080) or a taxi to join us on the shore of Lake "Achensee".
Our tip (just in summer possible): travel by train to the Jenbach railway station and change there on the train of historic "Achensee" steam rack railway. Get off the train at "Maurach Mitte" station.
You can also take a train to "Tegernsee" and continue there the journey by taxi or bus via Kreuth to Lake "Achensee". (about 35 km).
Journey by Plane
There are three airports within easy reach from Lake "Achensee":
Innsburck Airport (distance 45km- travel time 45 min.), Salzburg Airport (distance 150km- travel time 1.5 hours) and Munich Airport (distance 175km- travel time 2 hours).
"Rofan Reisen" Travel Agency in Maurach (Tel. +43 5243 5209) and "Tirol Taxi" (Tel. +43 512 58415) provide transfer services from and to each of the aforementioned airports.
Of course, you can also rent a car and follow the driving directions of google.maps.
